ULTRA Locations
Because of the massive rise in attendance between 1999 and 2000, festival coordinators decided to relocate to Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami for the third annual event. UMF continued to bring the biggest names in electronic dance music to Miami from 2001 to 2005. With the record-breaking attendance of the seventh annual UMF in 2005 the festival was again relocated, strangely, to a smaller (by area) venue, Bicentennial Park, for 2006. In 2007, with Winter Music Conference in full swing, Ultra Music Festival held its first 2-day event at Bicentennial Park with a record breaking 50,000+ concert goers in attendance. In 2012, Ultra will actually be taking place at Bayfront Park, the home of the festival before it moved to Bicentennial Park in 2006. Expanded footprint, increased capacity, prime waterfront location with lots of grass, trees and lush landscaping are features of the park. The Bayfront location may be a bit trickier now considering the size of current-day Ultra. Unlike Bicentennial, Bayfront has more obstacles to contend with like the amphitheater and enormous fountain.

Bicentennial Park
Bicentennial Park is a 30-acre (0.12 km2) public, urban park in downtown Miami, Florida. The park opened in 1976 on the site of several slips served by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad. It was named "Bicentennial Park" to celebrate the bicentennial of the United States in that same year. Today, Bicentennial Park is maintained by Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation Department, a public organization that manages all the parks within Miami. It has been host to many large-scale events as the park can hold 45,000 people. Ultra Music Festival being one of them, as well as numerous rock concerts such as Warped Tour, various conventions, concerts, as well as boat tours around Biscayne Bay. In March 2009, Bicentennial Park was set to host the Langerado Music Festival, a large three day festival that was held at the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation every Spring since 2003.
Bayfront Park
Bayfront Park began construction in 1924 under the design plans of Warren Henry Manning and officially opened in March 1925. Beginning in 1980, it underwent a major redesign by Japanese-American modernist artist and landscape architect, Isamu Noguchi. Today, Bayfront Park is maintained by the Bayfront Park Management Trust, a limited agency of the city of Miami. It is bordered on the north by Bayside Marketplace and the American Airlines Arena, on the south by Chopin Plaza, on the west by Biscayne Boulevard and on the east by Biscayne Bay. Bayfront Park is host to many large events such as the New Year's ball drop, Christmas celebrations, concerts, the Bayfront Park Amphitheater, the Tina Hills Pavilion, as well as boat tours around Biscayne Bay. Holds around 10,000 people.
